Now that you know why they exist, let's dive into how you should prepare. Here are some steps you can take to prepare for LBO (Leveraged Buyout) modeling tests:

Familiarize yourself with the basics of LBO modeling: Understand the concepts and mechanics of leveraged buyouts, including how debt and equity are used to finance the acquisition, and how to calculate key metrics such as IRR, MOIC, and debt coverage ratios.
Review financial statements: Understand how to analyze financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, and how to make projections based on historical data.
